ASHLEIGH GILLIAN ALTY

(née STEFANSSON)

 May 18, 1979 - September 3, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of our funny and beloved Ashleigh.

Ashleigh was born in Calgary to parents Leonard and Carla Stefansson and big Brother Jason. Soon after Ashleigh was gifted a little sister Ainsley, who would spend the next decade following her around.

Ashleigh and family moved to Winnipeg where she would spend most of her life. Ashleigh excelled in school. She loved choir, math, and socializing with her friends. Ashleigh would win all the spelling bees and would later attribute this to the many late nights playing boggle with her Mother Carla.

Ashleigh loved music, dancing and vacuuming, but her greatest love was her cat, Jacqueline Dorothy. She would tell you in every conversation how Jacqueline was loaded with love and character. She loved her big monkey to bits. Ashleigh’s only wish in her final days was that her sister ensure Jacqueline was always loved. She is.

Ashleigh will be forever remembered and missed by her father Leonard, brother Jason (Kelly), sister Ainsley (Neil), nieces and nephews Cameron, Aiden, Kieran, Shelby, Justin, Brandon and Chloe, numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.

Ashleigh was predeceased by her best friend and Mother Carla who she missed intensely every day.

If family and friends desire, donations can be made to Tamarack Recovery Centre.

Ashleigh's family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.
