January 28, 1928 - November 3, 2023

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Adam Ambrozy.

After several years of struggling with dementia Adam passed away at St. Norbert Care Home. The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff for their kindness and comfort provided during his time there.

Adam is survived by his wife Marie, son Ron (Nancie), daughters Judy, Linda, Sandra (Gary), Susan (Ronald), Tracey (Brad), many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Adam is predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and is survived by his sister Verna.

Adam was born in Poland and moved to Canada at a young age.  In his early years he lived in Arborg and West Selkirk.  Later Adam moved to Winnipeg and worked at Swift Canadian where he met Marie.  Adam and Marie were married July 17, 1947.

Adam worked at Fort Garry Plumbing and Heating for 45 years (1948 - 1993).

Adam's knowledge and experience with plumbing, heating and electrical was truly appreciated by customers, friends and family as he always made house calls.  Even across the miles Adam could talk us through how to fix it ourselves over the phone.

Adam was a great handyman who worked on big and small projects, as he loved to keep busy.  Whether it was an addition to the cottage, decks, fences, gazebos, grilling areas or painting it was done right, as it was measured twice and sometimes re-done to produce perfect results.  Adam's projects always involved Marie and family members who were helpers who learned so much as he always took the time to share his handyman skills.

Adam loved music, and on many occasions played the accordion and piano bringing joy and happiness to family and friends.  Adam and Marie enjoyed dancing waltzes, polkas and the jive.  It was heartwarming to watch them together.

Adam, Marie and family spent many summers enjoying the cottage at West Hawk Lake.  While there were many handyman projects, there was boating, swimming, fishing, camp fires and card games creating wonderful and lasting memories.

Adam and Marie enjoyed travelling over the years and after retirement spent the winters in Florida.  They enjoyed walks on the beach, visiting with family and friends plus some handyman projects.

Adam always had a zest for life, he was a loving husband and father and will forever more be missed.

The family is planning a private service and interment of ashes at a future date.

Adam’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.
