George Anderson

February 7, 1945 - April 16, 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dearly beloved George at Riverview Palliative Care.

George leaves to mourn his son Scott (Wendy); grandsons, Trafford, Quaid and Corbin; sister Jean McDonald; nephews Chris and Stuart;  his long-time girlfriend Sharon; and cousins. Predeceased by beloved daughter Marcy; father George; mother Pauline (Lena); friend Ken; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

After graduation from Glenlawn Collegiate in St. Vital and Red River Community College from the Drafting Course, George worked at Manitoba Hydro and CMHC. George also had a Home Inspection Company which he operated for many years.

George was an accomplished builder having built two homes for the family and one to resell. He could fix anything and did home maintenance for Jean and Sharon for many years.

George loved his many pets especially the dogs he had growing up and Brandy whom he shared with his family. Animals were always following him home. They seemed to know his kindness.

Winters were spent in Arizona, Florida, and finally Wesleco, Texas. Retiring to cottage life at Boundry Park, Winnipeg Beach. George sold the cottage and moved back to Winnipeg where he lived with Jean, Chris & Stuart. We survived Covid-19 together and reconnected our childhood lives. Lots of funny stories came out of this.

George will be missed by many friends at Winnipeg Beach where they had dinners, BBQs and visiting.  He met neighbours at his “garage sales” every year.  Friendship with his high school buddies meant a lot to George.  Ken (d.2012), Jim, Marv, “Big George” met over many lunches over the years.

George has been cremated and at his request there will not be a service.

Rest in peace dear George. You will be missed.

George's family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.
