DENIS EUGENE BRUNETTE

June 21, 1946 - August 18, 2021

Peacefully on August 18, 2021, Denis passed away at Actionmarguerite nursing home, at the age of 75.

He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Shirley; daughter Sandra (Gary); son Jason; step-son Garett (Arleen); grandchildren Kristin and Gavin; great-grandson Dalton; sisters, Sr. Lucille, Irene, Yvette, Sr. Agnes, and Lise; brother Henri (Joan); as well as sister-in-law Mary. Denis was predeceased by his parents; sister Sr. Therese; and brothers, Rene, Marcel, Maurice, Paul, and Leon who will be waiting to greet their baby brother again.

Denis started working at Safeway in the produce department and finished his 39-year career as the warehouse supervisor. Whether professional or recreational, Denis took pride in a job well done. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time puttering in his workshop, working in the garden with Shirley, spending time with family, and playing dominoes with friends. Denis overcame many health challenges: Polio, a cardiac bypass, Parkinson's, and a kidney transplant (lovingly donated from his son) with a determined spirit and an absolute knowing that someone was watching over him.

Our hearts are heavy but will lighten knowing that he will be watching over us until we see him again. The family would like to thank the staff at Actionmarguerite St. Vital and the physicians who cared for him. A private service will be held by family.

In keeping with Denis' wishes, cremation has taken place. A private service will be held by family at a later date. In the meantime, the family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.
