JOAN FLORENCE BUTLER

May 3, 1928 - February 15, 2022

Joan Florence Butler born May 3, 1928, died peacefully on February 15, 2022. She was born to Harry Bertrum Butler and Jessie Maude Butler. She resided in Winnipeg all her life, living in the West End and North Kildonan, her final home for the past three and a half years was West Park Manor.

She worked at ADP in her later years and made many friendships there. She attended John Black United Church. She was very bright right to the end. Her face lit up with new Sudoku and crossword books finishing even the most difficult puzzles. Her schooling was very limited, but she had a very proud moment obtaining her Grade 12 certificate at the age of 45. She loved to travel and went to World Figure Skating Championships, holidays in Florida, and attended many weddings of her nieces and nephews and extended family.

She is survived by her last remaining brother, Raymond, and his wife, Doreen, in Saskatoon. She was predeceased by her siblings Lillian (Ron), Helen (Danny), Cyril (Mary), Gordon (Irene), and Bert (Ada).

Aunt Joan, as she was known to most - relative or not, loved her family and knew all the birthdays and wedding dates. She was an encyclopedia on all family matters.

She would make a special thank you to her niece Janis (Philip) for their care in her final years. Also to the St. Catherines, ON crew who made two visits to her during her stay at West Park Manor. She lived a long happy life and was loved, which is all most of us can hope for. She never complained of her circumstances and made the most of every day. Love you lots, Aunt Joan.
