ROSEALIND (ROZ) SILVIA CAMPBELL
(née YAWORSKI)
September 15, 1936 – January 6, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roz on January 6, 2024 at the age of 87.
She was predeceased by her son Bruce in 2005, husband Rod in 2007, as well as her sister Vivian, and brothers Gerald and Alvin, and sister-in-law Nadia.
Roz is survived by her daughters Allison (Mike) in Vancouver; Karen (Bob) in Winnipeg; grandchildren Eric (Mel) and great-granddaughter Sophie; and granddaughters Chloe, Ella, and their mother Christine.
She is also survived by her brother Ron and his wife Lucille; sister-in-law Madeleine; and numerous nieces and nephews, friends and other relatives.
Roz was born in Cranberry Portage to John and Mary Yaworski (Zanyk) and was the first of five children. She met Rodney while they were both attending school in Winnipeg and were married in 1955. They had three children – Allison, Karen, and Bruce.
The family lived in Winnipeg where Roz worked at a variety of places, including the Manitoba Sugar Company, Victoria Hospital, and University of Manitoba. She combined part-time work and socializing by selling Tupperware and was a representative for three different cosmetics companies, first Avon, then Beauty Counselor, and finally Mary Kay.
Roz loved to travel with Rod. Their honeymoon was a bus trip down the west coast to California, and their first European trip was to Spain. After Rod retired, they made road trips with her brother Al and sister-in-law Madeleine, and took holidays in Mexico with family and friends. She and Rod also golfed, curled, and introduced the family to a love of camping – especially in Spruce Woods Park where they enjoyed visiting with the extended Campbell clan.
Family get-togethers at holidays were a favorite event for Roz, and she shared her cooking and baking skills with her daughters (and their friends) and grandkids, who keep a few favorite family recipes going. Special memories were made while making (and eating) Grandma’s perogies with granddaughters Chloe and Ella.
Cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held. Roz will be interred with her husband Rod and son Bruce.
