It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Paulette Currie, on December 19th, 2022 at the age of 65.
Paulette will be dearly missed by her children Howard (Chi) and Tanesha Smikle; granddaughter Shaniece Smikle; stepchildren Kathleen and Jeremy Currie; siblings Pansie Atkins, Donna Fairclough, Veronica Bryan, AnnMarie Goldson, Merdean Lewis and brother George McLean; many nieces and nephews; special son Sean Thompson; special sisters Paulette Lyttle, Miladro Lattery, special brother Pedro Lattery; and many great friends.
Paulette was born in Ashton, Westmoreland, Jamaica. She was raised by her grandmother, Ursula Brown and mother, Florence Brown.
Paulette was a devout Christian and loved serving the Lord.
Paulette was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Family and friends were really special to her and she loved to spend as much time as possible with them. She truly enjoyed attending her children’s sport events and was the loudest parent cheering on her kids and their team.
Paulette enjoyed getting together and having fun. She could brighten any room she entered with her energetic smile. She was one who made friends easily and seemed to know everyone.
Paulette lived a full and adventurous life. She loved the great outdoors, travelling, cycling and all things active. She was an avid plant lover and had a wonderful green thumb.
Paulette was a mother to all and her playful nature has left us with great memories to cherish for a lifetime. We learned and will continue carrying on her caring and kind nature to all.
We will cherish all our days that we spent with her and know that she is at peace and will look out for us. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family is grateful to those who have shared their kind words and support at this time. Please hug the people you love.
Paulette’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.
