LÉO DONAT JOSEPH DESROSIERS

October 22, 1955 – November 14, 2021

Léo Desrosiers passed away on November 14, 2021 at the age of 66, at St. Boniface Hospital.

He is survived by this three sisters and brother-in-law, Rolande Fontaine, Jacqueline St. Vincent (Roland), and Aline Desrosiers.  He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Monique Courcelles, Daniel Fontaine, Nicole Neveux, Richard St. Vincent, Maurice St. Vincent, Janine Gauthier, Angèle Jolicoeur, René Kulczycki, and Karly Mooney.  Léo was predeceased by his parents Rosianne and Edmond Desrosiers and his brother-in-law Maurice Fontaine.

Léo grew up in St. Boniface and attended Précieux-Sang School.  He always loved being around cars, and learned to handle tools at a young age.  He became a mechanic, and the challenges presented by a noisy motor, made him all the more determined to figure out what the problem was.  He had a passion for racing cars, which he did for a number of years.  It was in his blood.

Léo worked as a trucker for most of his adult life, interspersed with a being a mechanic on heavy machinery.

For many years Léo was involved with the raising of Malamute dogs.  His special companion for many years was his dog Mignonne.  She had the most beautiful clear blue eyes, and was such a gentle dog, always by his side.

We would like to thank the EMTs as well as the St. Boniface Hospital staff for their help and care of our brother.

If there is a message to come from Léo, it would be that everyone should be kind to each other.

Léo will be missed by family and numerous friends.

Due to Covid restrictions, a memorial services will be held at a later date.

POEM OF LIFE

Life is but a stopping place

A pause in what`s to be

A resting place along the road

To sweet eternity

We all have different journeys

Different paths along the way

We all were meant to learn some things

But never meant to stay

Our destination is a place

Far greater than we know

For some the journey`s quicker

For some the journey`s slow

And when the journey finally ends

We`ll claim a great reward

And find an everlasting peace

Together with the Lord.

Vous pouvez verser des larmes parce qu`il est parti ou

Vous pouvez sourire parce qu`il a vécu.
