Feb 5, 1960 – May 23, 2021

Dad was born in Swan River, MB and his last 5 years on earth he resided in Winnipeg close to his children. He was a Son, an Uncle, a Brother, a Father, a Friend, a Grandpa and more.

A father to 3 beautiful children, Anita, Tannis and David. His 3 kids were his pride and joy, he was so very proud of each of them.

A grandfather to 3 beautiful Grandchildren, Atina, Kyla and David. He loved them so very much.
Dad was a wood worker for most of his career, he worked with his hands. He also recently would make rocking chairs from clothes pins in his spare time. Spending the last few years actively on his keyboard and computer, to still keep his hands busy.

5 years ago, Dad made the unselfish decision to get sober, that allowed him to not only have 5 great years of building lasting relationships with his kids and grandkids, but it also allowed him a new path in life. Sobriety was a true blessing in his life, he gained numerous friends and some he held close like family. He was able to help others in guidance, sharing and advice in aftercare meetings, in person, on the phone or on the computer via video chats and zoom meetings. We are all so proud of not only what you had overcome but the fact that you helped others in their sobriety.

Dad would always cheer for his 2 favorite teams, The New York Islanders and The Saskatchewan Rough Riders. We used to tease him about his teams (when he lived in Winnipeg) and he lived to tease us when the Winnipeg Jets lost in Hockey. On Dec 29, 2017 he got to go to his first ever NHL game with his son David and he was beyond proud of that moment.

Dad liked to chat on the phone, while our phones are way to quiet without you, we will always cherish the conversations, guidance and laughs (so many laughs) and slips of the tongues that became inside jokes.

He will always be remembered for his love of music, AC/DC, ZZ TOP, DEF LEPPARD you name it, he was a rocker through and through. An all-time fav of his was the Bee Gee’s. We will keep your memory alive when we rock out to the songs you loved, as we keep your memory alive. Dad was able to go see AC/DC in Edmonton with Tannis and he also enjoyed the Sheep Dogs concert with Anita at the Forks in Winnipeg.

Family meant a lot to Dad and we have proof in the many, many pictures from our trips to Edmonton and Yorkton to see him. So many happy memories. Waterparks, Seal shows, bike rides, great meals and much much more. We will always hold these times close in or hearts.

Heaven gained an angel when you were called home too soon, all 3 of us find comfort in the fact that you didn’t suffer and you are now in the arms of the lord, please continue to watch over us all.
