It was a deep regret that we announce the passing of Erlinda Francisco on January 23, 2021. Erlinda passed peacefully at Riverview Health Centre with great love and care from her family and friends. She leaves behind her two sons, Joshua and Jezrel Amancio; as well as extended relatives in the Philippines.

 

She was born to Exequiel Lagunzad, and Zosima Catilogo on November 11, 1948, in the Philippines. She was the eldest among 7 kids. Most people know she grew up in Leyte, but not everyone knows she was born in a small town nearby called Combis Street in Dulag City, Philippines. They lived as an impoverished family but they are rich in love and care from their parents.

 

She has the opportunity to work then as a secretary at Children’s Museum and Library Incorporated (CMLI), a non – profit organization. There she met her late husband, Florante Amancio, who worked as a purchasing manager at the Intercontinental Broadcasting Company (IBC 13) and has three great children namely, Jasmin (deceased), Joshua, and Jezrel. She remarried in 1993 to late Primitivo Francisco aka “Tatay” Efren and migrated to Winnipeg, Canada in October of 2009.
