KYLIUK, Norman - obit photo.jpg

April 21, 1944 - December 16, 2021

It is with deep sorrow along with relief that our beloved Norm is no longer suffering after his courageous battle with cancer.

There is a hole in our hearts, and we will miss him so much.  Norm is survived by his loving wife Donna; daughter Amber (Jonathan); grandchildren, Sarah and Emma; daughter Micha (Colin); grandchildren McCallum and Kennedy; siblings, Ernie (Carol), Donnie (Erna), Gloria (Stephen), Joyce, Gladys (Kerry), Judy, (Jerry), and Ken (Karen). He was predeceased by his parents, William and Nettie.

Norm was born in Winnipeg (just hours apart from his cousin Walter).  They always called each other twin cousin.

He went to John M King, General Wolfe Junior High and then Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute.  He played football at DMCI in 1959, then also played for the Rods, Rams, Hawkeyes & St. Vital Bulldogs.  His football career was cut short due to knee injuries.  Norm was an avid curler, golfer & then in the recent years became addicted to pickleball.

Norm & Donna met in 1968 and were together for 3 1/2 years.  Then after a 10 year span came into each other's lives again.  Norm was very happy to take on Donna's readymade family and became a dedicated husband & father to them.

Norm was always the best dressed for all occasions from the time his father, who was a tailor, made all his clothes for many years and he maintained that image right up until he left this world.  He would always say to the girls in the morning, "from an ugly duckling, into a beautiful swan"  when he was ready to head out to work.

Norm was a kind, caring gentleman with a wealth of knowledge.  He drove everyone crazy at times with his methodical ways especially when it came to eating sooo slowly.

He was very diligent to rehab so hard after his many surgeries over the last 6 years eager to get back to the pickleball courts.

He will be missed by his family & friends.

We love you forever.  Rest in peace.
