JOYCE MARGARET ANNA LITTLE

(née BELL)

July 24, 1933 - April 25, 2022

Joyce Little passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Monday April 25, 2022 at Carman Memorial Hospital, with her loving son by her side.

 

Joyce was born in Winnipeg Manitoba on July 24, 1933, and was raised in Headingley, Manitoba where she also attended school. She met her husband-to-be, Earl Little, in 1950 and they were married June 4, 1955. They build their house in Joyce’s hometown of Headingley where they raised six sons. Being a mom was Joyce’s favourite “job”. Her boys were her life, always. Prior to her life-long career as a mother she worked at Eatons Downtown out of school and then the Headingley Post Office briefly.

 

Joyce had the most welcoming smile; she never met a stranger. Friends with everyone, loved by all. She lived a full life packed with activities and adventures; summers at The Narrows fishing, winters in Phoenix, crafting, curling, knitting, baking, bowling, and bingo to name a few.

 

Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Gord (Donna), Gary (Doreen), Brian (Jan), Ross (Cheryl), Brad (Linda), and Dave; grandchildren, Dallas (Lynnea), Alissa, Blair (Gail), Melissa (Hector), Wade (Molly), Derek (Kelsey), Brent (Candace), Christina (Cam), Tawny (Anthony), and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Kinsey, Izayah, Havier, Kruze, Bobby, Tommy, Hank, Elizabeth, Emilie, Elise, Evangaline, Rhiannon, Stella, Emmet, and Lux.

 

She was predeceased by husband Earl; parents Gordon and Hilda Bell; brother Jack; and sister Pat.

 

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Carman Memorial Hospital and Homecare Services for the care and compassion shown to Joyce.

 

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association.
