GAIL WILL

(née Roseveare)

February 19, 1949 – August 28, 2019

With heavy hearts, we announce that Gail, passed away on August 28, 2019 under the loving care of the staff at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 70 years.

She is survived by her mother Alecia Rorrie; son Matthew (Melanie); grandson Tyler; brother-in-law Ed (Carolyn), sister-in-law Debbie (Doug), nieces and nephew Tammy (Dave), Danny (Vanessa), Krista, Carrie (Nathan), Linda and Edward, and their extended families. She was predeceased by her father George, sister Allyne, brother Donald and family friend Len.

Gail worked for over 40 years at Manitoba Hydro in the Accounts Payable and Purchasing Dept, where she made life long lasting friendships with Val, Karen, June, and Nettie. She dedicated much of her retired years ensuring her mom, Alecia enjoyed an active lifestyle out at ceramics, church gatherings, getting her nails done and attending family concerts, musicals, sports events, birthday and holiday get-togethers. She enjoyed the companionship of her feline children Bart and Willow.

Family was very important to Gail and she was always around to celebrate special occasions. She lovingly showed her great nephews and nieces support in all of their activities and she was much-loved in return. Gail was a significant member of her extended family and she will be well remembered as someone who immediately made you feel like you were welcome and belonged.

Gail was expert at crochet and sewing. Those lucky enough to have received a handmade gift were in awe of her attention to detail and creative flair.

She was a generous, caring friend; who loved the Christmas season, Tai chi, and dining out with friends ...she could never have enough cinnamon on her baby apple waffle! Gail was generous with her time and would lend a hand wherever one was needed. Gail was a longtime member of The United Church in Meadowood and volunteered many hours there.

In Accordance with their wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.

Gail will be missed at church by those she doesn't even know she touched. I can see her smiling face and know she drove many persons to church unselfishly.  So sorry for your loss. Just one of many, Deb Harvey❤

Gail was one of the first people I met at Manitoba Hydro when I started work there in the 70’s. Everyone knew Gail- the attractive young woman with very long, dark hair! I worked directly with her for several years and you would be hard pressed to find a harder working employee. She’d keep so busy she’d forget to drink the coffee she had poured herself in the morning and her work day would typically end with her taking the last mouthful of cold coffee from her cup. We started Tai chi classes together after work at Hydro and they became a real interest for Gail - she kept them up even in retirement.  Gail amazed me with her expert sewing, knitting and craft skills. Her talents once saved the day for me. We were making a cape and muffs for my daughter’s wedding when Gail happened to drop by. We had been struggling with the sewing  as we were not used to working without a pattern, but Gail jumped right in to help and stayed all afternoon to get us on track - the cape and muffs looked great thanks to her assistance!  Gail loved Christmas and would save her vacation to take most of December off so she could properly prepare. Friends would be the recipients of Christmas crafts and these will be particularly treasured now. For many years Gail was part of our  group of now retired Hydro ladies who would go out for breakfasts, each others’ birthdays, and at Christmas. You will be sadly missed at all these occasions in the future, Gail - we lost you far too soon. ❤️ Val Dunsmore  Friend and co-worker for many years

I knew Gail as a kind and giving friend to my elderly mother. She made sure my mother got to and from church, took her out occasionally and visited her. I cannot remember a time seeing Gail when she was not upbeat and positive, even when she was experiencing  physical pain walking from, I believe, a winter fall. Always smiling, always looking on the bright side, very giving. Sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of working with Gail at Manitoba Hydro.  We did not work together directly but she was simply wonderful.  She gave every task 100 percent, and every human being 10,000 percent!  Gail was also a lot of fun to be with.  May she rest in peace. Caroline Shaver former co-worker❤

I am so very sorry to hear of Gail’s passing. I knew Gail from Manitoba Hydro and while we didn’t work in the same department, we were often located in close proximity and I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to have contact with her over our many years. She was always smiling, so happy and positive. She was always willing to share her knowledge, lend a helping hand and a story or two. Really... she was just the shiniest gem.  Wishing you all peace for your hearts as you say goodbye to her.  Carol McKay former co-worker

Great-Aunty Gail was one of Jack and Cole’s biggest cheerleaders at football, baseball and basketball games, school concerts, musicals and band performances. Since mom passed away well before they were born, I am grateful that she (and Great-Grandma) were able to share in their young lives. She was very special to them and will be missed beyond words by them and by me. ❤

I met Gail on only 2 occasions; I liked her instantly. She brought her Mom, Alicia, to the Morris Legion to observe my Uncle Leonard receive recognition for his service. As a Vet he was a Legion member. It was a great privilege to be at this presentation. I took pictures & Gail asked if I could send her some pictures of this event. I was happy to do this for Gail & Alicia. The next occasion was at the Morris Cemetery for Uncle Leonard's burial service. It was a sad occasion but I couldn't help thinking that there was a whole chapter of my uncle's life that I knew next to nothing about. Uncle Leonard was my saviour on one occasion when I was a teenager. He was dear to my heart ever since. I so enjoyed the video that you posted. It exuded joy & happiness. The references to Manitoba Hydro triggered memories of my dear friend, Doreen, who attended my church & also worked at Hydro. Gail probably knew her.  I send my condolences to her family. Sincerely, Bonnie (Jorgenson) Clement

I retired last June from Sunova Credit Union and recently started writing my story, which included Gail. (I just googled her and found this. I am so sorry for your loss.) I quoted charter rates from Lambair to Mb. Hydro - to Gail! When Lambair went under in 1981 (remember the recession?), Gail had gotten a promotion from AP to Purchasing, and they offered me her job in AP, with Al Eisbrenner as my supervisor. Gail had so much happy energy, and I remember her long black hair, and her order of toast and peanut butter in the cafeteria. I still think of her when I’m buttering my toast.  I wish I’d kept in contact. Please accept my condolences.
