SAVERIO LOSCHIAVO
February 10, 1944 – January 15, 2026
After a brief illness, peacefully with family by his side, Saverio passed away on January 15, 2026.
He is survived by his wife and love of his life, Raffaella; son Pat (Alison); grandsons, Vince (Lexi) and Alex (Lauren); brother Bruno (Teresa); and sisters, Imma, Nunzia, and Ivana in Italy. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Saverio was predeceased by his father and mother, Pasquale and Stella; his brothers, Ralph, Gaetano, Franco; and sister Daniela.
Saverio was born in Amato Italy in 1944. His family moved to Vigevano where he met the love of his life Raffaella. Their son Pat was born in 1968.
Saverio and family moved to Winnipeg in 1977 to join his younger brothers Ralph and Bruno and to provide for a brighter future for his family. He continued his trade in the shoe industry in Winnipeg and retired from Deer Lodge Centre after many years.
In Winnipeg he forged several long lasting friendships and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Over the years he enjoyed gardening, making wine, and entertaining. Many people will attest that he was usually the life of the party. He always looked forward to his frequent trips back to Italy.
His grandsons Vince and Alex were his pride and joy. He could not help but smile whenever they were around. He loved going to their hockey games and could be heard cheering in the stands, "Go Go Go!"
His humor, kindness, and smile will be missed by everyone, including his second family at Villa Cabrini. He enjoyed his time sitting outside the apartment with his friends and at night time they could be found inside cheering on their Jets or Bombers.
During his last few years, Saverio could be heard expressing his gratitude for the blessings in his life.
The family would like to thank the staff at 5B at St. Boniface hospital for their care and compassion.
A celebration of Saverio’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Unitarian Church located at 603 Wellington Crescent.

Very sorry for the loss in your family. It was very special to be able to visit Saverio in his last days of his life. He looked back on his life and he was filled with gratitude. May Saverio's soul be in the eternal peace we pray.
