KERI MELISSA TROUT-YAKEL

September 3, 1980 – September 7, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Keri at the early age of 44. With her husband holding her hand at her bedside, Keri was given her wings to watch over us from above in the early morning hours of September 7, 2024.

Keri leaves to mourn her husband Trevor; sons, Hayden and Desmond; sister Karla (Robert); father William (Jackie); her dog Violet; and all her friends and colleagues.

Keri was predeceased by her mother Marlene; grandparents, Albert & Mary Simpson and Kathleen & William Trout.

Keri was a devoted wife, nurturing mother, and someone that took great pride in her immediate family. She created a warm and loving home. She truly enjoyed life with her loved ones by her side. Weekends spent on camping trips, evenings playing board games, and summer days relaxing around the pool was how she enjoyed spending her time with her family.

Keri was very proud of her career at the National Microbiology Lab. Her career and education were something she always continued to strive for excellence in. She was the go-to in her department when anyone that had questions that they needed answers to.

Keri’s warm heart, bright smile and infectious laugh will be deeply missed.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 1:00pm on November 22, 2024 at The Gates on Roblin located at 6945 Roblin Blvd. All are welcome to join as we celebrate her life and support her loved ones during this difficult time.

Keri’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

What an amazing girl Keri was. I could feel her presence in the lab before I even entered her room at the lab. I was devastated with the news of her passing, can't begin to understand the heartache felt by the people who knew her better. One of the most beautiful people you could ever know.

As a wife, Keri was a partner, best friend and a solemate. She shared laughter, adventures, and life's joys and challenges with her loving husband Trevor. Together, they built a beautiful life, filled with love, kindness and devotion.

As a mother, Keri was selfless, nurturing and guiding. Her sons Hayden and Desmond were her world. She instilled in them empathy, curiosity and kindness, shaping them into compassionate and bright young boys. Her love and legacy will continue to inspire them.

May her love and spirit continue to guide you through the difficult days ahead.

Rest in peace Keri. You love ❤️ and light will never fade. 💐
