LYNN ALLAN WARNOCK

It is with great sadness that after a lengthy illness we announce the peaceful passing of Lynn Allan Warnock, 78 years, October 6, 2021 at the Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg.

Lynn will be deeply missed by his extended family, niece, Tracy Rutledge (David Jackson); grand nephews, Noah Decter-Jackson and Rory Jackson; grand niece Montana Jackson; niece Jodi Craig (Drew); grand nephew Dillon Craig (Natasha), as well as grand nieces, Stephanie and Jamie Craig.

He was predeceased by his sister, Yvonne Marion Rutledge in 2016, and parents A. Thomas Warnock and Marion Warnock.

Lynn was born on April 23, 1943 in Dauphin, Manitoba. He had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed duck hunting and fishing with his parents as a young man growing up. After finishing grade school he attended Red River College in Winnipeg. Upon graduation he worked for many years in the personal income tax preparation business.

Lynn was an avid sports fan and never missed a ‘Bomber’ game. He was a participant in the yearly Grey Owl Golf Tournament at Clear Lake where he also served as a director.

He enjoyed spending time at the cottage, visiting with family and taking part in the annual Rib Night dinner.

He was proud of his Ukrainian heritage and never missed a visit in the summer to Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival in Dauphin.

The family is grateful for the compassionate care Lynn received from the doctors and nurses at the Health Sciences Center.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made on Lynn’s behalf to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

A family celebration of life will take place this summer at Clear Lake. In the meantime, Lynn's family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

My condolences to Lynn's family. Our families have been friends for years. After all these years being at Clear Lake in the summer months, Lynn and I had our first golf game together a couple of years ago during the Grey Owl. RIP Marg (McDiarmid) Patrick

Very sorry to hear of  Lynns passing. We grew up together in Dauphin and Clear Lake-enjoyed many hunting trips and get togethers with our 'gang' of friends. We lost touch over the years but sounds like Lynn had a fullfilling life with his family and his sports. Rest in peace old friend!

Rest in Peace Unkie.  Tracy and Jodi I am very saddened to learn of Unkie's passing.  As a child I never knew he had a first name because you guys called him Unkie.  He was always a gentleman first. He was always interested in what you had to say and had time for you. It is hard to think of a time when our families were not linked and I  will always see your grandmother, mother and uncle at Clear Lake.  Heaven seems to get the best people and I can see our families there playing cards (bridge most likely or whist), having a good chat over coffee, sitting at a fire, curling, or sitting at the Golf Course having pie.  My deepest condolences to you all.

As a past regular at the Grey Owl tournament, our paths crossed primarily at this time in June.  First thing I noticed about Lynn was his genuine personality and how he always took the time to visit with you.  Lynn had that caring personality and will be missed by all who met him at Clear Lake. My condolences to Lynn's family.
