It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Glenn William Stephen at the

age of 63.

 

Glenn is survived by his wife Sabrina; children Amanda and Andrew; stepdad Doug; step mom Dee and father-in-law David; as well as numerous aunties, uncles and cousins both in Manitoba and Alberta.

 

Glenn was predeceased by his both parents and grandparents.

 

Glenn was born in Unity, SK on August 30, 1954 to parents Olga Gurman and William Derkach. The family moved to Manitoba shortly afterwards and Glenn spent many happy years on the family farm in Vita. He enjoyed farm life as well as hunting and fishing with his grandfather and uncle Jarvis.

 

He was also a very hard working man who spent 43 years in the sewer and water industry working for Atkins Underground, D&D Sewer and Water as well as more recently Nelson River Construction before he retired in 2016.

 

When he wasn’t working hard, Glenn could be found at the various legions throughout Winnipeg and Manitoba enjoying the company of others drinking beer and making them laugh.

 

Cremation has already taken place and there will not be a memorial service as per to his wishes.

 

A celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.
