MARGARET STROH

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Margaret at the age of 75 on Wednesday, September 20th, 2023.

Margaret is survived by her husband Bob; daughter Kim (Craig); son Scott; and grandchildren, Luke, Ella, and Spencer. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Freda and Robert Hutchison; as well as her parents-in-law, Norma and Phil Stroh; and nephew Adam Sullivan.

Margaret was born on December 20, 1947, in Red Lake, Ontario. She was raised alongside her three siblings Joan, John, and Eleanor. She spent much of her childhood in Val D’or, Quebec, eventually leaving at the age of 19 to attend the Lorraine School of Nursing in Pembroke, Ontario before starting her long-storied career as a nurse.

Margaret met her husband Bob in Belleville, Ontario, and they were later married in Ottawa on December 20, 1975. They welcomed Kim into their lives in 1976, and their son Scott in 1979. After a few transfers they ended up in Winnipeg in 1981, where they remained until her passing,

Marg spent her life caring for others, whether that be for her patients during her 46 years of service as a nurse (mainly at SOGH), or for her friends and family. One of her favourite things to do was watch her beloved sports teams including the Blue Jays, the Goldeyes, the Jets, and her favourite curling stars. She also had a passion for crafting, creating memorable gifts and cards for every occasion. However, the biggest part of her life was caring for and spending time with her grandchildren. She would do anything and everything for them and could not get enough of watching their activities, making them grilled cheese or pizza dogs and enjoying endless lunch dates with them. They were her world, and she theirs.

Marg’s faith was of the utmost importance to her. We are reassured that she is at peace and in the loving hands of her God. Cremation has taken place and a private family service was held at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church.

Though endlessly sad, we are eternally grateful for the quality time and memories we shared with our wife, mom, and Gramma. Until we meet again for another big hug.
