(née GROBB)

April 28, 1942 - April 21, 2022

Ann Marie passed away peacefully on April 21,2022 with her 3 daughters by her side.

She was predeceased by her husband Roy Stronski and brother Donovan. She is survived by sisters Edythe Huffman (Ed Stephens), and Betty Vermue (Bill); three daughters, Sandra Plouffe (Stacy), Debbie Wyatt (Curt), and Pam Stronski; along with her seven cherished grandchildren, Colt, Mason, Camryn, Ashley (Jared), Aaron, Connor, and Taylor; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba to Elsie and Reginald Grobb. She was a clever preschool girl, very eager to learn. By the time she was old enough to attend school she was placed in Grade 2.

Ann Marie had amazing musical talent, playing the piano in bands throughout her school life where Roy was her biggest fan, later becoming an accomplished teacher and music teacher in both the St. James and Assiniboine South School Divisions. She was instrumental in the creation of and was the pianist for the Assiniboine South Youth Choir which is still active today.

Community and friendships were very important to Ann Marie. She was actively involved in her community as a volunteer and enjoyed bridge club and curling with friends. In her retirement she was a devoted caregiver to her mother and loved spending time with her grandchildren both in Manitoba and BC where she and Roy enjoyed spending their winters.

She has left us with so many wonderful memories and her clever and witty sense of humor will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank the staff at Holy Family Home for the wonderful care she received over the last 5 years. Our deepest gratitude also goes to family friend Rebecca for her love and devotion in caring for our mom.

Cremation has taken place, burial and reception in Portage La Prairie will follow this summer.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba.
