ANTHONY CHARLES WALKER
May 29, 1973 – March 20, 2023
It is with heavy hearts the family of Anthony Walker announce that on March 20, 2023 he departed this world after his strong, 6 year battle with colon cancer.
Anthony’s family, his wife, Carolyn & his sons, Xavier & Calder, were the pride and joy of his life. His wife of almost 22 years, was someone he appreciated on a daily basis and made her laugh at every turn right until the end…it was those traits that made her love him dearly. He loved watching his children grow and become the young adults they are today; he was a great Dad who played with them when they were small and always expected their best as they grew. His boys knew that his expectations of their character and work came from love and his knowledge that someday they would lose his guidance. His sister, Ricki, and her children held a huge part of his heart; he was “Unc” to them and he supported and cheered them on in all their successes.
Anthony was a man of many words, he loved to talk to people; there wasn’t anyone he couldn’t start up a conversation with and find a common topic of which to talk about. This special trait came in handy on his 2 year mission for his church in Kentucky & Indiana. This time of his life was one that he treasured and always spoke about whenever he had the opportunity.
Anthony’s passion was sports; teaching them, watching them and playing them…he is well known at many a hockey rink and ball field throughout New Brunswick. The kids he coached over the years meant the world to him and he loved to see them learn, play hard and succeed. Coaching was his one true joy!
One of his dreams was to meet his all-time favorite hockey player, Eric Lindros. He had the pleasure of marking that off his bucket list in 2021 during the Hockey Hero’s Tournament, a fundraiser for the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Anthony supported this Charity over the last several years by planning special events that raised funds for his participating hockey team.
Anthony was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and holds his many mentors, friends and councillors very close to his heart. Mark & Rachel Reid, Brad and Anita Doskas, Derrick Webster & Krista Skov-Nielson, and many others have provided such comfort and love throughout his years.
He leaves behind his loving wife Carolyn, his beloved sons Xavier and Calder, his sister Ricki Lynn Walker, his best friend Peter McMenamon, in-laws JoAnn & Allan Welch, Chris (Karen) Welch, Shannon (Scott) Robertson, Nieces & Nephews, Narissa Rodgerson, Devin Rodgerson, Kayden Rodgerson, Lexy Rodgerson, Iain Robertson, Victoria Robertson and Aidan Welch. Aunts & Uncles, Tanya Peterson, Kelly (Bruce) McIntyre, Star (Roger) Cashwell, Nona McLaren, Terry Peterson, Susan (Robert) Oullette, Jim (Becky) Hodd, Wayne (Star) Walker and Richard (Linda) Walker. Cousins Scott Anningson, Tim Anningson, Paula Anningson, Michael Cunningham, Christy Cunningham, Cheryl Lydon, Kimberly Ryan, Tricia Hodd Kelly, Jamie Hodd Kotsabasakis, Cody McIntyre, Taylor McIntyre, Terena Vincent, Michelle Walker, Kurtus Walker, and Ryan Walker.
Anthony is predeceased by his parents Karen & Willis Walker, his aunts Heather Hodd, Laurie Peterson, his uncles Dennis Peterson and Lorne McLaren and his cousins Richard Walker and Ian Walker.
There will be a celebration service for Anthony at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, at 177 Villa Drive, Hampton, New Brunswick at 11:00am April 8th, 2023.
