SHU WANG

August 25, 1980 - July 16, 2022

With great sorrow, we announce that Shu Wang passed away on July 16, 2022 from cancer. She was diagnosed in January 2021, and fought valiantly and heroically. After multiple surgeries and treatments, we were finally able to bring her home, where she spent her last weeks surrounded by her loving family.

Shu was predeceased by her brother Jing Wang in 2017. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Harley Piatkowski, daughter Victoria (age 8), her parents Kuancheng Wang and Jingzhen Weng, sister-in-law XinWei Cui, nephew Yibo and many aunties, uncles and cousins.

Shu was born in Inner Mongolia, China on August 25, 1980. She grew up in Tieling in Liaoning province. She moved to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba where she got her bachelors degree. She would later achieve her CPA/CGA designation, and worked as accountant at Dycom, Loblaws, and finally Canada Life. Her colleagues were like a second family to her, and they doted on Shu, helping in any way they could to support her through her illness.

Shu was a strong woman, ambitious, assertive and opinionated. She would work hard to achieve any goals she set for herself. But she was also compassionate, always thinking about her family and what she could do to make others happy. She loved shopping, and watching Chinese dramas or singing competitions on TV.

Shu’s ashes are interred in Brookside cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave, Winnipeg, MB, in the memorial garden.

Shu's family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.
