JAVIER AGUILERA
JAVIER ERNESTO AGUILERA
May 22, 1966 - March 7, 2021
Javier Ernesto Aguilera, 54, partner of Sheryl Rempel, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully, March 7, 2021, at home.
Born May 22, 1966, in Sogamoso, Colombia, he was the second born of Jose Aguilera and the late Marina Cediel Aguilera.
Javier spent his early years in Belencito, Colombia. Even though the family moved around many times during his first 10 years he never had problems making friends, with his charismatic way, and his friends were a constant fixture at the family home.
Javier’s pride and joy were his 3 children and he would do anything for them. Many memories were made at cabins rented in the summer where he could be found fishing, hiking and boating with the kids. He was the king of “Dad jokes” and never missed an opportunity to share one.
He will be remembered for his love of life, his smile, complete with disarming dimples that lit up the room and his kind heart.
His sisters fondly remember him as the smart one, the funny one and the cute one. Kind-hearted, thoughtful, humble and giving.
Javier attended John Taylor High School, and worked a few odd jobs before settling into his career at Boeing Winnipeg where he worked for 31 years.
Javier loved to travel and he and Sheryl shared many wonderful adventures together exploring the world.
He is survived by his partner in life and love, Sheryl Rempel; his children Karissa, Kailey and Mitchel and their mother Korrena of Winnipeg; father Jose Aguilera, partner Gloria Millan of Bogota, Colombia; sisters and their families, Adriana and Daniel Koshowski, their 3 boys Tyler, Myles and Riley of Winnipeg, Manitoba; Claudia and Marco Caporuscio, their 3 children Diego, Luke and Isabella of Montreal, Quebec. He is also survived by Sheryl’s children and their families Kelly-Anne and Stacey Neufeld of Grunthal, Manitoba, grandchildren Anabelle and Daniel; Teri-Lynne Zacharias, grandson Carter of Kelowna, British Columbia; Brea Rempel and partner Tyler Billings of Manitou, Manitoba.
In addition to his mother Marina, he was predeceased by his brother Jose “Nachito”.
You were taken too soon and your presence will be missed by many.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no service planned.
Donations in his memory may be made to: Kidney Cancer Canada, 3 - 251 Queen Street South, Suite 561, Mississauga, ON L5M 1L7.
