PATRICK ROMAIN

JOSEPH ALLARD

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Patrick Romain Joseph Allard, 42, on July 19, 2023.

Beloved son of Ginette Allard, Romain Allard and Wendy (stepmom); siblings, Natalie Allard-Tinkler (Dale), Joëlle Sirois, Amber (Jeff), Brett, and Ryan. He will be dearly missed by his favorite nieces, Émilienne, Sophie and Léa, as well as his friends and extended family.

Patrick was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but spent his childhood living in St. Adolphe, Manitoba. He was a happy bubbly child, full of energy and adventure. He spent lots of time with his family camping and fishing. After he completed his GED, he went on to CDI college to complete a Network Administration diploma, as he was always very technologically savvy. He used this knowledge in his future jobs. The last few years he had been on a leave from his work, but he enjoyed his quiet lifestyle. He often helped his neighbors fix their electronics and enjoyed making meals for a friend in the building as well as his mom. He was a great cook and loved making stir fry.

Pat will be remembered for his quick wit and his luck at cards (cribbage) and word games. He loved doing word jumbles and crosswords. Pat was an avid gamer and enjoyed scary movies and sci-fi books. He loved animals and had adopted a neighbour’s cat that he named Yumi which he made a welcome party for and to whom he appointed his step-brother Brett as the godfather. Thank you, Brett, for adopting Yumi.

Pat liked baseball and hockey, as well as lawn games with his family. He had three adoring nieces that he spoiled on birthdays and at Christmas. For their last birthdays this March he gifted them with flower seeds and the girls have planted these sunflowers and daisies in his honour.

Our hearts are broken to lose you Pat, you are so missed by us all.

Our thanks to the paramedics, staff and Chaplain at St. Boniface hospital for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sara Riel Inc.

A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Riverwood Church Warehouse (270 Gordon Avenue, Winnipeg, MB).

Pat’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.
