JOYCE BAERR

(née STRELIOFF)

March 9, 1939 - September 29, 2020

Sadly, on September 29, 2020 at 12:29 PM Mom passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Leaving behind her 5 children, Kimberly (Fumihiro), Blake (Debbie), Anthony (Pat); the twins, Wendy and Heather (Scott). She also leaves behind her Grandchildren, Joshua (Karrie) Jonathon, Holly, Courtney (Jonathon), Thomas (Kali), James and Alex; and their mother, Tina; along with her Great Grand Children Tucker, Gracie and Maddox.

Born in Saskatchewan to Anne and Peter Strelioff; she was pre deceased by her husband, Allan Baerr along with her siblings, Peter, Fred and Martha. She grew up in Kamsack, Verigin and spent a short time living in Creston BC as a young girl. Mom would always speak of her best friend Joey and how they would walk to the outdoor arena and cheer for the local hockey team and her love of going to dances.

As an older teen she moved to Biggar, Sk and lived with her brother Fred later moving to Dauphin Manitoba and finally to Winnipeg where she married her lifelong partner of 51 years, Allan Baerr.

Mom loved to cook and has the largest collection of cook books and hand written recipes, the neighborhood kids would swarm to our house whenever she made her World-Famous drop doughnuts.

Mom was a "jack of all trades" in her career, a welder at Motor Coach Industries to Gondola Pizza and retiring from The Bay in the 90's. Her most important job of all was raising her children taking a lot of pride in the fact there was nothing more fun and louder than a good Sunday dinner around the Family dinner table.

Mom enjoyed talking on the phone, especially with her nieces who would give her updates on the small-town news from home. She also enjoyed to chat with her extended family Ernie, Clare and Margorie and close friends Muriel, Pat and Dean. Mom was looked at as a second mother to many of our close friends and always had tea ready at a moment notice for the "Terlicki girls" visits which she enjoyed.

Joyce's family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. They also encourage the sharing of photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.
