It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Erlinda Baniqued on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at the age of 79 years old.

 

She also left behind one surviving sister, Flordeliza “Flor” Baniqued-Legaspi as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

Erlinda was born on November 25, 1940 in the Philippines. She lived most of her life in Winnipeg. She was the third child of Juan and Felicidad Baniqued. In search for a better life, she left the Philippines at a young age and worked in the Netherlands then eventually in Canada. 

 

Family was the most important to Erlinda. She enjoys sharing her blessings with her family. She displays a bright smile and has a calm spirit. She was hospitable and touched many lives along the way.

 

Cremation took place on September 29, 2020. To honour her wishes, her remains would be transported back to the Philippines where a final burial will commence. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Health Sciences Centre - Winnipeg for the excellent care Erlinda received during her final days. A special thank you to the staff of Ethical Death Care for respectfully helping us through this difficult time.

Erlinda, commonly called as “Erling” by her family will be greatly missed. We love you Aunty/Lola Erling, rest peacefully.
