BRYAN JAMES BERNARD

September 6, 1948 - August 30, 2021

With heavy hearts, we announce that Bryan “Trapper” Bernard passed away on August 30th, 2021 in Winnipeg at the age of 72 years.

 

He is survived by his wife of 20 years Denise, mother of his children (Lise Loiselle), children James (Arielle), Monique, grandson Gabriel, sister Valerie Dupont, niece Tracy (Steve) Adler, step-children Max Revak, Josh Mordarski & Karen Sovak (Curt), many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

 

Born in Pine Falls, the second son of Omer and Thelma (nee Wonnacott) Bernard, Bryan grew up in Great Falls.  He was an avid water skier, hunter, fisherman, trapper and diver.  Boy Scouts was always a huge part of his life.  Scouters knew him as “Trapper”.  He served as Cub leader then Akela of the 129th Cub Pack, Peguis District Service Team, Asst. District Commissioner, District Commissioner and Trainer, earning the Scouts Canada “Medal of Merit in 1994.

 

Bryan followed his passions and was a “jack of all trades”.  During his lifetime he worked in auto body repair, electrical, car sales, typewriter repair, business partner in “The Computer Niche”, and the MTS IT Department.

 

Bryan’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

 

A special thank you to the nurses and doctors at St. Boniface Hospital for taking such compassionate and respectful care of him.

 

In Accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.  If you so desire, please make a donation to CancerCare, or your favourite charity.

 

He lived a life filled with love, laughter, and joy.  Be at peace, we love you and miss you.
