RICHARD WAYNE

"DICK" BRASHER

September 23, 1950 - April 12, 2021

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father Richard Wayne Brasher.  He passed away at Grace Hospital on Monday April 12, 2021.

He was predeceased by his father Richard Senior and his mother Marie.  Richard is survived by his daughter Tara (Chris); son Jason; sister Susan (Martin); and his nieces, Madi and Emma. Richard will be deeply missed by his number-one grandson Spencer (Darielle).

Like his father, Richard worked his entire career at Canadian National Railway.  He made lifelong friends there and through his involvement with the Manitoba Street Rod Association.  The family would also like to acknowledge best friends Larry and Marilyn Stubbe, dear neighbours Chris and Lloyd Smith, Kathy Holst, Dave and Roxanne Hislop for their endless care and concern.  Dad loved all of his extended family and especially appreciated the knowledge and humour of his niece Colette.

In his retirement Richard enjoyed golfing, working on many projects, playing drums in various bands and spending time with his family.

A private cremation has taken place and due to COVID-19 restrictions a celebration of life will occur at a later time. In the meantime, Richard’s family kindly requests that his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory sharing your own photos and/or sharing your own memories and stories using the comment section on this page.

The family also wishes to thank Richard’s doctors, nurses, hospital staff, Manitoba Home Care staff, and everyone at CancerCare Manitoba for their dedicated work.

In lieu of flowers, Richard asked that donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

Dad’s last wish was to tell all friends and family, “See you soon.  Hugs and Kisses”.
