WAYNE BUDGE

On June 12 2023 we all lost an amazing man but heaven gained another member of “Team Angel”. Wayne passed peacefully and surrounded by love.

His memory will be forever be cherished by his wife Wendy, and their son Shea. Greeting Wayne was their son Andrew who predeceased him December 11, 2010.

Wayne grew up and lived in Transcona for over 30 years and through school and sports and during his university years, met and kept lifelong friends along the way. With his natural wit and charm Wayne won over his neighbours in Lindenwoods and count many as forever friends as well.

Federated Insurance was where Wayne excelled in his career. After 40 years of dedicated service Wayne retired at the end of 2022 leaving behind another terrific group of friends to reminisce about his awesome presentations.

Wayne lives forever in the hearts and memories of Wendy and Shea, Mom Lila, sister Sheilah (Greg), sisters-in-law Debbie (Lyle) and Karen, nieces Kelsey, Taryn, Amber and Shelby and so many dear friends.

Friends and family are invited to share in a come and go greeting from 11am till 2pm and raise a pint to Wayne, Friday, July 7 at Southwood Country Club (80 Rue des Ruines du Monastere, Winnipeg).

If friends so desire, donations may be made to either the Andrew Budge Memorial Baseball Scholarship fund in association with Manitoba Baseball (contact family for details), or to The Compassionate Friends of Winnipeg: http://www.tcfwinnipeg.org., or to a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank everyone from Riverview Health Centre 3E for the compassion and care shown to Wayne and his family as well as CancerCare. Wendy and Shea cannot express their love and thanks to all their friends for being there at this difficult time. We have the best friends.

No ... the other Wayne Budge! Sorry Wayne. I always said I would use that. I do hope you're well and at the very least, better than I.

So, this is it. It's been great -could have been a little better.

Predeceased by a dad I never knew and a son I wish I had known better; that I managed at all, is only through the support from family and so many good friends.

Shea, I am proud of you forever. You have so many strengths that I only wish I had or could take credit for developing in you. You already know you're the last remaining male Budge. No pressure and please continue to take care of your mom.

Wendy, I know I don't have to remind you to take care of Shea. Wendy who, with love, endured me.

Strong partnership? Certainly. Duration, for sure. Smile. I would not have wanted to spend my life with anyone else. Ever the romantic. Another smile.

I've always said my mom was so strong she would outlive me. Quite the prophet. Everyone knows the respect and admiration I have for her to have raised Sheilah and I as single mom way before that was commonplace.

Friends: many more than I deserve and too many to single out here. I hope all of you can know what you've meant to me. Thanks for being there for me and keep doing what you're doing for others.
