It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of Gerry Christie on July 18, 2022.

 

Gerry is survived by his wife Karen; children Eric (Michelle), Dwayne, and Jamie (Stephanie). His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Evan, Brooklyn, Parker, Ashbie, and Argie. Gerry will be deeply missed by his mother Grace; and sisters, Janelle (Neil) and Jo-Anne (Hugh). He was predeceased by his father Alex; and Stepfather Bill. He leaves many relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.

 

Gerry grew up on a farm in Strathclair, MB and many will remember him for his many years of playing the bagpipes. He loved to tinker with motors and there wasn't a machine he couldn't operate or tear apart and fix. He worked for many years in the coal mines of Alberta and he has left his boys with a deep love for the outdoors camping, fishing, and riding the trails in the mountains of Grande Cache. He had many fond memories working summers for Ganglers Fly In Fishing Lodge. He cherished the many trips walking hand in hand with Karen on the beaches of Punta Cana and touring the open roads of Alberta and BC on their Harley.

 

In Accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
