With heavy hearts, we announce that Yvonne passed away on August 29th, 2022 in St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 64 years.

 

She is survived by her husband of 43 years Gilbert; children Daniel (Viveen), Monique (Mario) and Chantal; grandchildren Alexandria, Liam and Jasmina. In addition to immediate family Yvonne will be missed by her in-laws, nieces and nephews, friends, neighbours and co-workers.

 

Yvonne was born to Marie (Cretain) and Pierre Desjarlais on July 20th, 1958 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Yvonne and Gilbert met in Winnipeg in 1977 and were married in Ste. Rita, Manitoba on July 7th, 1979.

 

Anyone that had the pleasure of meeting Yvonne quickly found out that she had a wonderful sense of humor and never took life too seriously.

 

Yvonne always loved the outdoors. She always looked forward to summer camping trips in Birdshill Provincial Park when her children were younger and in Whiteshell Provincial Park as her children grew up, with White Lake and Rainbow Falls being her favourite places to go. Yvonne also enjoyed taking long walks whenever she had a chance.

 

Yvonne loved going on gambling trips to the US with Gilbert, Chantal and anyone else that happened to come along. Her favourite holiday was Christmas, which seemed to run all year long in her home, and she was always looking forward to the next great Christmas movie or horror film.

 

In accordance with Yvonne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held for immediate family only at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8th, 2022 at 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road (Unitarian Church).
