HELEN ISABEL GIBSON

June 29, 1952 - February 13, 2023

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Helen Isabel Gibson. Mom was taken suddenly from us, at her place of residence in Brandon, MB.

Helen leaves behind her children and grandchildren, Shannon and grandson Josh, Shaun & Stacy and grandsons Austin, Wade, Colby and Reid. She is survived by her sister Cathy and brother David (Liza), Brother-in-law Ron (Claudette) Robbins, Sister-in-Law Thelma (Wayne) Sawatsky and Brother-in-law Keith Hopfner and many cousins, Nieces and Nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Helen and William Gibson, as well as the father of her children, Allen Robbins.

Helen was born on June 29, 1952 in Winnipeg and brought home to the family house in Transcona. Helen lived in the family home until she was married at the age of eighteen, then she moved to the farm in Rorketon, MB. Helen lived in many places, Winnipeg, McCreary, Rorketon, Dominion City, Lynn Lake and Brandon. She also loved to travel and volunteer for many causes. Mom’s career was in Municipal Government as a Chief administrative officer. She made many new friends and acquaintances over the years in many Provinces and Countries.

Helen’s Grandon’s will miss her greatly. Between the trips to clear lake, movies, making crafts, going out for supper, sleep overs, fishing trips, visits and phone calls, etc. Many memories were made between them.

We can take comfort in one thing, that Mom loved with all her heart and was loved by all of ours. She may be gone in body, but she is always in our hearts.

The family is hosting a Celebration of Helen’s life at 1pm on Friday May 12, 2023 at the Transcona Cemetery, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Following the service, the family invites everyone to join them for lunch and time of fellowship, at the Legion Branch 7 (117 Regent Avenue East, Winnipeg).

In the lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Memory of Helen to a charity of one’s choice.

Helen’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.
