It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Gulenchyn at the age of 87 on June 20, 2023, at the Ste. Anne hospital.

 

Joseph was born to Andrew and Mary Gulenchyn (née Bach) on Wednesday, April 1, 1936, in Whitemouth, Manitoba.

 

He leaves to mourn his wife of 60 years, Nettie (Sidorko); children, Daniel (Joann), Sonia, Susan, Patricia, Josephine, Lawrence (Kim), Donald (Paula), Lisa (Donald), and John; brother-in-law Donald Sidorko; sister-in-law Pauline Kulachok; two nephews, Fred and Tim Kulachok; 13 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Joey.

 

He worked all his life and helped raised a family. He worked at the Elma Peat Moss plant, operating the plant up until he retired. When he retired, he did odd jobs for Kurian Forest Products.

 

Rest in Peace husband, father, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and Uncle.

 

Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family grave side service at a later date on 104 Regan Ave, Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church in Elma, MB.
