ELAINE PATRICIA INKSTER

(née KILGOUR)

March 11, 1946 - September 25, 2022

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elaine Patricia Inkster age 76, on September 25 2022 at the St. Boniface Hospital.

Elaine was predeceased by her parents George and Mary Kilgour. She leaves behind her husband of 47 years Carter, her sister Judy, her brother Howard and brother-in-law John Inkster.

Elaine was born in Winnipeg Canada and grew up in fort Garry. She attended the University of Manitoba and graduated with a Bachelor of Home Economics and a Bachelor of Education. Her ensuing career in teaching began with Peguis First Nation, Ebb and Flow First Nation and Kinsmen School. She finally settled into a job with Winnipeg School Division #1 and would spend the rest of her career as a Special Education/ Resource and Transition teacher. Elaine’s love of teaching was clearly evident from her caring and dedication to her students. Even after retiring, Elaine continued part-time in a diverse number of teaching positions.

Many enjoyable summers were spent at her parents’ cottage on White Lake. She also loved travelling, whether it be trips across Canada and the USA (Hawaii) or cruising the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Alaska.

Having a very keen interest in all things dog-related Elaine was an avid participant and competitor in a number of dog-related activities, from her early years to her passing. She will be greatly missed by our Shelties Lexie and Morgan.

No funeral or memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Cancer Care Manitoba, the Manitoba Arthritis Society and the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Elaine’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.
