ROBERT JAMES JOHNSTON

April 1, 1976 – May 24, 2021

With sad hearts, we announce the tragic passing of a kind and gentle soul Robert James Johnston on May 24, 2021

Born in Winnipeg, 1976, Rob was predeceased by his father Dale.  Left to mourn his loss are his mother Penny; sister Laura (Curtis Fedorchuk); brother Cole (Marjolaine); sons, Chase and Kaden; his dog Tikka; nieces and nephews, Cole, Copelyn, and Adrian.

He will also be missed by his best buddy, JT; his uncle Jim; aunties Judy, Donna, Ivy, and Val, as well as all of his cousins.

Born in Winnipeg 1976, Rob was predeceased by his father, Dale. Rob grew up in East Selkirk, Thompson and East St. Paul.  As a young man, Rob worked for several construction companies including JD Penner Paving Stone, Tallieu Road Construction, Patterson Grain and WWF Water and Sewer.  Rob was well liked by all and will be remembered for his great smile and laugh.  Rob was a comedian, the life of the party.  Rob loved the outdoors, canoeing, camping and fishing spending many weekends with his brother Cole just being kids.  Rob was always helpful to all who needed it.  Unfortunately, Rob’s health deteriorated over the past two years.  All the hospital visits and surgeries took their toll.  The pain is gone now. Rob can rest.

As Rob wished, cremation has taken place.  A private celebration of life and burial will take place in the future. In the meantime, Rob's family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

Thanks to Dr. A. Haresha for his care and concern for Rob over the years, you were a friend, and thanks to the Kenora OPP for their kindness and compassion.

As Rob wanted in lieu of flowers, donations to the Manitoba Humane Society or the Aurora Recovery Centre.
