BRENDEN MacFIE

November 17, 1990 - November 13, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Brenden MacFie, announces his passing on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the age of 29 years.

Brenden will be lovingly remembered by his son, Ashton; mother, Lana; father, Lee; brothers Kyle (Hunter) and Tanner; sister, Nikki-Rae (Adam); maternal grandparents Iris and Wayne; paternal grandfather, Bernie; as well as his numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Theresa and paternal grandfather. Gerald.

Brenden was a Flin Flon boy, born and raised. He loved to hang out with friends, but it was also cool to spend time with his grandparents. Brenden was known for the mischievous twinkle in his eye, his infectious laugh, and his kind and compassionate spirit. There were many adventures, or should one say “misadventures”, in which Brenden was usually accompanied by at least one of his siblings. His family would like to say Nikki was innocent in the shenanigans, but she was usually in there somewhere. They were a tight knit group, and nothing was off limits in the pursuit of a laugh.

Brenden was almost always the most fun person at a gathering. He was an avid lover of music and all things pickled. Obviously, he took fashion cues from no one, as demonstrated by his garish outfits (just ask Grandpa Wayne). Although he hated needles, porridge, basketball, and anyone tougher than him. He loved the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the Washington Football Team (formally the Redskins), the Ottawa Senators, the Flin Flon Jr. Bombers, UFC fighting, camping, fishing, swimming, cliff-jumping, hats, shoes, shades, oysters, olives, and flexing his muscles.

Everyone remembering Brenden will do so in their own way. If he owes you a beer, you can find him in heaven. He will gladly allow you to buy him another.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private celebration of Brenden's life will be held when it is possible to gather. In the meantime, Brenden’s family kindly requests that his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos and/or sharing your own memories and stories using the comment section on this page.

When I leave you don’t weep for me.

Pass the wine around and remember

How my laughing pleased you.

Look at one another, smiling,

And don’t forget about touching.

Sing the songs that I loved best

And dance on time all together.

As for me, I’ll be off, running

Somewhere on the beach, and I’ll fly

To the top of the tree I always meant to climb,

When you’re ready, I’ll be there -

Waiting for you

Take your time.
