Mike Gerbasi

MICHAEL PETER GERBASI
April 2, 1958 - December 21, 2025
Michael Peter Gerbasi (Mike) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 21, 2025.
He is survived by his brother Sam (Shelley); sisters, Catherine and Teresa (Romeo); nephew Joseph (Katie); nieces, Keziah (Shaw), Rose (Jen), and Sarah (Jeremiah); grandniece Desiree; grand-nephews Milo and Isaac; Uncle Jim (Lydia); Aunty Muffy; and many cousins. He is also survived by his lifelong friends, including Gene Pfrimmer and Steini Hibbert (Gail).
Mike was predeceased by his partner, Delores Mirecki; his parents Vic and Jean Gerbasi; and his friend Jamie Hibbert.
Mike was a quiet person who listened more than he spoke, but when prompted, he loved to engage in thoughtful, in-depth conversation. He was especially inspiring when discussing his many interests, including fast cars and motorcycles, gardening, Formula 1, physics, the universe, music, cooking, and electronics.
He worked as a mechanical, electrical, and computer technologist for several companies, spending the final 14 years of his career with the Winnipeg School Division, where he retired in December 2024.
Mike was beloved by many, and our brother, uncle, and friend will be deeply missed.
Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of his life is being organized for family and close friends.
Donations in Mike’s name may be made to FortWhyte Alive or the Winnipeg Humane Society.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Went to school with Michael. My memories of him are of a quiet thoughtful man who loved cars and motorcycles. Absolutely love your covering photo, full of life and a huge smile on his face.
