MARIO PABLO ALAS

July 18th 1986 – August 30th 2021

With heavy hearts, we announce that Mario Alas, our beloved son and brother passed away on August 30th 2021 in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 35.

He is survived by his father Juan Pablo Alas, mother Roxana Margarita Mendez, siblings Beatriz Alas, Pablo Alas, Eva Alas and nieces Valeria Sidon and Kateryna Sidon.

Mario was born in El Salvador, Central America. When he was an infant he moved with his family to Canada.

When Mario was a young boy, he loved reading books. He read so many books and he was a fast reader. He enjoyed playing Nintendo and hanging out with his brother and friends. He was always a happy boy, so cheerful.

Since he was little, he had a special gift of being so funny, witty, silly, hysterical and with the biggest sense of humour. His talent was making people laugh and showing people a good time.

Mario was a natural comedian, he was the funniest person ever, he was always making jokes or saying the funniest things.

Mario lit up any room he was in with joy and laughter. His humour was so unique. Everyone loved his company because of laughter.  He brought so much joy to all of us every single day with his humour, that was his gift.

Mario was active, he was a big basketball fan, he played basketball and he even studied Jiu Jitsu. He loved working out and playing sports.

Mario was a beloved and gentle son. He had a special connection to his mother. He was a big mama's boy and he wasn't shy about it. His mom loved spoiling him, especially with her cooking. She loved making him his favorite foods like pupusas, Salvadoran food.

Mario's mom was the only person that knew and understood him the most. He deeply loved and cared for his mom. She was the closest person to him and their mother and son bond was very precious and unbreakable.

Mario never fought or had a bad moment with his dad, he was so respectful. He was kind and gentle son towards him. He gave his father a watch and his dad will treasure it forever.

One of Mario's best friends in life was his brother Pablo. They were only two years apart and were the closest of brothers. The went through so much together. At times they worked together and they had so many memories traveling and going on vacation. Mario was truly blessed to have his brother by his side.

Mario had an abundance of friends across Canada. He was sociable and easy to get along with. He made friends easily with his funny personality.

His boys from Ontario where a group of buddies that he grew up with. These boys were not only friends but his brothers.  They had so much memories and good times. These brothers were solid and loyal and the best group of boys anyone could ask for.

Mario stayed away from difficult situations or conflicts. He really didn't like any type of conflict and he would remove himself or use his humour to improve any difficult situation.

He was also a very hard worker; he was always a valued employee and coworker because he had a great work ethic. He brought laughter and great energy to all his jobs.

Mario loved and enjoyed life, he lived happily even until his final day when the Lord decided to bring his son home.

Mario's light and love will endure in the hearts of his family who love him endlessly.

We remember his humour, his beautiful smile, everything about him is still with us. He was a treasure and joy. We are so beyond blessed for our beloved Mario.

Fly high angel.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord; And let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen
