The sad news of Wes's death took my breath away. Wes was my cousin and we were the same age, only 3 months between us. Although we did not grow up together, we did enjoy a few summers together as young boys when his family returned to the old homestead in Saskatchewan. Wes was a very accomplished guy, and there was nothing he couldn't do if he put his mind and his hands to it.

Wesley was witty, intelligent and affable, and our conversations over a brew were always enjoyable. I value these memories.

Condolences to those who loved him. May he rest in peace.

Wes was our friendly neighbor who always had a smile and wave for us as we walked by. We enjoyed discussing the lake and travel, yards and gardening.

We will definitely miss our neighborhood chats and will keep growing the garlic that he passed along.

Our sincere condolences to Gayle and family.

Wes was my brother-in-law. I thought he was terrific. He had such a wide variety of interests, such competence at so many things, and such energy. Not to mention that he had a killer smile. I'll miss him.

Donna and I have been neighbours to Wes and Gayle since March of 1975. Our houses were in the final stages of construction and I was in our house one day checking things out heard the front door opening and in walked Wes Anderson. We soon discovered that we would be next door neighbours and over a short period of time we became close neighbours. Wes and Gayle would spend virtually all their summer weekends camping and we joined them on a few of those trips.

Back on Olivewood, there was alway a party, a progressive dinner or even an Olivewood Golf Tournament during our annual street party. The Andersons were always there. It is easy to recognize Wes in his signature denim jacket and jeans and his white stetson.

Wes discovered sailing and bought a beautiful big sailboat and sailed Lake of the Woods. Years later and always looking forward he bought a island lot and built a beautiful self designed cottage.

No camera phones then but we can show you a few 35mm slides of Wes at his best, always smiling.

Wes was our young brother and I will miss him so much. When I was in Grade 12 he was in Grade one .He was always so happy to see Willard and me when we came home for holidays.

Wes's talents were many- from a skilled cheff ,a builder ,to an advisor. If there was something he didnt know he would look it up..Many times he would give me advice on matters to do with the law if I was having a problem.

We will always remember his delicious seafood dinners which were topped off by Gayle's scrumtious desserts..

My thoughts and deepest sympathy are with you Gayle, Heather, Tom, and William.

I have so many fond memories of my young brother Wes.

I've been best friends with Heather for about 28 years (!!) and spent alot of time with Wes, Gayle and Heather during the teenage years. At one point in high school during a really difficult time I stayed with Heathers family for awhile. Wes welcomed me with open arms, was wonderful to me over the years and made me feel like a valued person. He genuinely cared about my well being. I have so many memories of spending time at their wonderful cabin on the island, and on the sailboat. There were alot of fun times and memories made with her family. Wes had such a great sense of humour and really enjoyed it when Heather and her girlfriends enjoyed the cottage. Wes is legendary in our minds and he will be missed! xox

Heather is one of my dearest and closest friends. She organized many epic girls' weekends at the Anderson cabin on LOTW and Wes was always the host extraordinaire. He was always willing to be our captain, boat loader, chauffeur and chef. Thanks Wes, for putting up with our 20 something year old shenanigans. We always had the best time thanks to your hospitality and love of entertaining. You will be missed.

We lived next door to Wes and Gayle. We were excited to move into our first home in 1975. They were great neighbours. Wes invited me to make wine and beer together. He had all the equipment. Wes did not go for wine kits. He ordered boxes of red and white grapes which were crushed in his wine press. Best wine ever made. we made so much wine that I think it was illegal. One year he won the best home made beer in a contest. He was so creative and skillful. One summer he had a pretty big sailboat in his back yard that he ordered. He finished installing a lot of the accessories in the boat and then hauled it out to their island. A very interesting guy who had a lot of interests and talent. We moved off the street in 87 and lost touch with the family. Lorraine and I were surprised to hear of his sudden passing. Our sympathies go out to Gayle and Heather during this difficult time and loss.

Wes, Gayle and Heather lived directly accross the street from us. He was a great neighbour. Always helpful, kind and happy. We had many fun street gatherings and parties with him and Gayle which I will always remember with such fondness. He was always ready for a chat and always interested in what was going on in our family. I will always remember how nice is was when him and Gayle came to visit in Texas. This picture of him is perfect and is how I will always remember him and also how he was always beautifying his yard and tinkering on his cars. Gone to soon Wes. Our deepest sympathies to Gayle, Heather and her family.

Wes was our neighbor for 27 years.

You could always find him tinkering in the garage, tending to his herb or vegetable garden and cooking wonderful smelling meals on his BBQ.

He was always busy with a project.

We will miss his chats and smile.

condolencesto Gayle and the family.
