Krishna Armogan

KRISHNA “ANIL” SWAMY ARMOGAN
August 13, 1970 – February 14, 2025
Krishna “Anil” Swamy Armogan, aged 54, peacefully made his way home to heaven on February 14, 2025 with his wife Michelle Lee Sellner-Armogan at his bedside at Grace Hospice. After 15 years battling cancer, and over seven months in palliative care, Krishna is finally pain-free.
Born in Tain Settlement, Berbice, Guyana on August 13, 1970 Krishna (aka “Anil”) was the youngest child of Armogan and Eva (Ankana Yankana) Rajgopaul. He came to Canada in 1980 with his parents and sister (Suneta) to join his brother (Richard) and his family in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Krishna’s early years were spent seeking fun and adventure, playing and trying not to get into too much trouble with his many friends. After graduating high school, he worked in plastics factories and quickly became a shift supervisor before finding his true calling working with youth. As an Educational Assistant he worked at Inkster School and Andrew Mynarski VC Junior High School for almost 20 years. In that time he also discovered his PASSION for COACHING basketball and occasionally baseball. While working in the Autism Program at Inkster School he met Brad Warkentin, who supported, discipled and baptized Krishna into his new life with Christ at West End Christian Community Church.
Krishna and Michelle went to the same schools since elementary and started dating in their 20’s. Their lives were transformed when they had their first son Konner Xavier in 1996. Four years later, the couple got married and were excited to continue to expand their family. They welcomed their daughter Milena in 2003 and soon after welcomed their second son Kaleb in 2005. Krishna was a fierce protector, leader, and caregiver of his family and loved cooking and spending time with them. The family shared enjoyment in camping and traveling to various places in Canada, USA, Mexico, ect.
Krishna was predeceased by his parents Eva and Armogan Rajgopaul. He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 24 years Michelle Sellner-Armogan; his children Konner Xavier, Milena (Colin Watkinson), and Kaleb; his siblings Richard (Radika), Arjunen, Amo (Leela), Dato, and Suneta (Manny) Pasena; his in-laws Brian and Beryle Sellner; and his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, long-time friends, and players.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all of the amazing staff at Grace Hospice, and the Palliative Care unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness and compassion during this difficult journey.
The celebration of life will start at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Trinity Baptist Church 549 Gertrude Avenue (street parking). The celebration will also be streamed and available on Youtube @trinitybaptistwinnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in his memory to Kids Sport Manitoba, Basketball Manitoba, or other youth charity of your choice.
Krishna’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

met Coach K during my time at AMVC. he wasn't my direct coach, but he often helped Coach C out. here are a couple of photos of when Coach C asked me to lead a group prayer over Coach K for his healing. one thing I will forever be grateful for is Coach K being unapologetic about his love for the Lord. he always reminded me that I was loved by Jesus and to turn to prayer when things got tough.
Thank you Coach and rest easy 💛

Krishna and I met over 15 years ago when our boys Cody and Kaleb played baseball together. I connected with Krishna very quickly. He has a very warm and genuine smile and personality to go with it. Throughout the years the boys played sports together and remained the best of friends and so did the parents.
Krishna wasn't only a coach to my son but a mentor. He gave Cody a safe place to be when he wasn't home and I always knew he was in good hands at the Armogan home, and well fed!
He also let me know that he trusted me to care for Kaleb when he was at our home or out at the lake with us which meant so much to me. Krishna loved his family more than anything! We spent many years playing slow pitch, tournaments, camping, many backyard BBQ's.
I will miss our chats, your hugs and that smile more than anything..
Rest easy my friend ❤️

I have known krishna all my life, originally meeting his son Kaleb while playing baseball when we where young.
We quickly became close friends, and thus I became a familiar face at the armogan household.
Krishna Allways made sure I felt welcome, offering food and cracking jokes.
Coach never failed to see the best in me, even when I could not see it in myself.
He has given me someone that I will forever call a brother, and for that I will Allways be grateful.
Krishna Allways faced constant adversity in his life, but no matter what was thrown his way, he never let it slow him down.
Thank you for everything you have given me
Rest easy coach

My faminly and I have known Krishna and family for 10 years now. What a beautiful family. Krishna had great charisma and a strong aura around him. Whan i first met him we struck up a conversation and we were talking like we knew each other for years. Krishna was a great nentor to the athletes he coached. I was never really a basketball fan but i sure have a better understanding of the game. The way Krishna would explain it i found fascinating. Krishna couched our son Jack and not only did he teach him how to plan the game but he taught him life lessons (to me too). We will truly miss Krishna's sence of humor, his big smile and his larger than life personality.
Our condolences to Michells, kids and the rest of the family

Over 40 years, from kids in the hood to growing families and discussing the ways of the world, it's been a blessing to have Krishna as my friend.
Looking through old pictures, they're all mostly of camping trips. And usually him at the fire cooking. He was a blessed soul. May he find eternal peace 🙏❤️

It wouldn't be often I would run into Anil, but every time I did it was like I was reconnecting with a lifelong friend as he would light up a room with that smile and such an amazing guy to spend time with. Thoughts and prayers from our family go out to Anil and everyone touched and affected by his passing.

Ten years ago as a student at AMVC I got the privilege to assist and witness Coach Krishna coach basketball. It was inspiring to see firsthand his sheer love for basketball and his passion for guiding his student to be the best they can be both on and off the court. Coach Krishna’s legacy will live on in the countless players he inspired. As a young adult you can feel when an educator/coach truly loves what they do. It’s a privilege to have known him. I send my deepest condolences to the Armogen family.

On behalf of myself & Family, his brother, Arjunen Armogan, my sis Monica & Family , we pray that God bless uncle & watch over Aunt Michelle, Konnor,, Milena & Kaleb.
We will miss his visits to Cambridge with those late night chats at the kitchen island & was fondly called Gruncle (for great uncle) by our children.
He always referred to me as his crazy niece that even in pain he video called my sister, & I to joke thst he used 13 mins of his oxygen on us...now that's
It has been hard for the older siblings to grasp that their youngest was 1st to be called but was harder seeing him in pain. We take comfort that we shared a great relationship & was able to share those 10 days in Winnipeg holding his hands, feeding him jello & sharing laughters even in tears. His words to my Dad..." I love my bro...my cool gangsta bro from Schnectady:"
We pray that God bless his soul. Jai Shri Krishna⚘️

He said he loves his bro; his "cool gangsta bro from Schnectady " lol
