Pamela Ashton
PAMELA JOY ASHTON
October 27, 1963– June 30, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce Pamela's passing on June 30th, 2024, at Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 60.
She is survived by her daughter Jamie (Jordan); Sister Cheryl (Huw); Nephews, Casey (Megan & Audrey), Aaron, and Izak (Chayla, Makenna & Kalia); Best Friends, Shannon (Leo, Kyla, Tara & Erin), Donna (Rick, Danni, Nicole & Landon); Pets (Louis, Henry, Lumi and Ruthie); Many Cousins, Coworkers and Friends.
Born and raised in Headingley, Manitoba, Pamela's love for adventure blossomed there. Fueled by adrenaline and a passion for engines, her teenage and young adult years were filled with motorcycle rides, dirt bike, and snowmobile expeditions. Headingley remained a cherished part of her life.
Pamela's curiosity extended beyond her love for engines. She was fascinated by her family history, eagerly connecting with relatives on ancestry.ca in recent years. This very curiosity, perhaps ironically, led her into the aviation industry for the past 15 years, where she developed a close bond with her coworkers, who became like family. Despite a good-natured fear of flying, Pamela found joy in her work.
Travel with her daughter, Jamie, became a passion in her later years. New York City held a special place in her heart, where some of her ashes will be scattered.
Pamela's warmth, kindness, and tenacious spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. Her memory will continue to inspire those she touched.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 26th, 2024, at the Headingley Community Centre (5353 Portage Avenue).
Pamela’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

The first time I met Pam she was about 5 years old living on Elmhurst. I walked into the back yard where she was playing, she looked up at me and said "who are you and what are you doing in my yard". I told her I was the paperboy and I was delivering the newspaper. So she looked up at me and told me "well hurry up and get out of here I'm playing". Well she never really changed much, head down, full speed ahead and ready to take on the world.

I will never forget you my dear friend. We went through good times and bad times together. We survived all of the ugliness of where we grew up. Many people were unkind to us both. I think that is why we were so drawn to each other. We were two peas in a pod. We could definitely relate. We met at 14. You accepted me right off the hop. The fun we had was amazing. We faced animosity together and stood up to the bullies in our world. Truly incredible. I have never had this friendship with another. Truly the ying to my yang. We could be brutally honest with each other and still be friends. I will miss our laughs, our talks and our sisterhood. You cannot be replaced. I love you my friend and truly hope we meet again,

Loved Pam. What an amazing loving person. Always smiling and uplifting. My daughter hung out with hers when she was in Shelmerdine. We were close when she worked at Lonestar Harley. She called me one night and asked if I wanted to test drive some bikes before the test rides the next day at Lonestar. I was like hell ya 😃. She will be very missed and she was loved by many. Hugs to all for your loss ❤️❤️

Pam was a very special friend who was always there for me after I lost Kirk. I love and miss her terribly. I value all of our time spent together, even if it was as simple as a late night phone chat, that was at least a few hours long. She had such a passion for history, family, pets, Charleswood, aviation and of course her beautiful Jamie. Life won't be the same without her. Cheers to a life well lived! 🍷Until we meet again my beautiful friend. 💕

Lipton's Chicken noodle soup....my favorite memory of cousin Pam.. I think I was 13 when Auntie Bernie recruited me to babysit Pam at the house on Elmhurst Road. She was a good kid but...only thing that she ate for lunch was Lipton's Chicken Noodle Soup., day in and day out.
i knew then that she had inherited the Belgian stubborn gene.
Jamie...your mother was a fighter and she would want you to be the same. So sorry ffor your loss.

Our deepest condolences 💐 go to your loss🙏🏼
Pam was an amazing person and a good friend when I was on my own with my children.
She made it a little easier to be a single mom . I saw how strong and independent she was as a single mom which taught me that I could be that way too.💖
I will always remember her smile and sense of humour.
Jamie she was so proud of you ❤️
you were her world 🤍
