Orlando Azevedo

ORLANDINO "ORLANDO" AZEVEDO
April 28, 1947 - December 27, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Orlando on Saturday, December 27th, 2025 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 78.
He is predeceased by his mom Clara (1954); dad Francisco (1989); and step mom Delfina (2010).
He will be lovingly missed by his wife Maryanne; daughters, Christina & Diana (Brad); grandchildren, Silas, Owen, Kaidence, Koa and Sereia. Along with his sisters, Heldera (in BC), Filomena (Teofilo) and brother Frank(Fatima); nephews, nieces and Maryanne's side of the family.
Orlando was the hardest working man. Nothing seemed to slow him down, no matter what health issues were sent his way. He loved helping others and anyone that had the honor of meeting him became an instant freind.
His love for animals was also out of this world, his best friend was his dog August they did everything together daily walks, go for golf cart rides, to sitting on the deck peacefully/relaxing.
Orlando was born in Portugal, and came to Canada in the 70's for a better life, with his family. Where he ended up meeting Maryanne and were together for almost 50 years. In 1985 Orlando and Maryanne purchased a cabin in Sunset Bay with the girls, then later ended up building a home for himself and Maryanne to live in once they both retired. The entire bay knew who Orlando was and it will not be the same without him there.
Orlando is the strongest man we knew. He has been through so much in his life, and never gave up no matter what it took. Sadly, in November he had a stroke which he made it through and it looked like he would make a full recovery but with some other complications it seemed God had other plans for him. After a month, Orlando is finally at peace. We know he is with his mom, dad, family members, siblings, friends and the animals we lost over the years catching up and giving big hugs.
We will always cherish our memories of Orlando and he will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace to the best man we know. We love you to the moon and back, and miss you dearly.
We would also like to thank the staff at HSC, River View and St. Boniface Hospital for everything they did to help Orlando right to the end. Making sure he was as comfortable as he could be.
A Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help located at 4588 Roblin Blvd., followed by a luncheon in the basement.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked with you would like to give something please make a donation to any animal rescue of your choice in Orlando's honor for his love of animals.

He was a shuffle board champ. That was a fun visit at his place with Christina. Won't forget it.
