EDNA BABIUK

April 9, 1931 – December 11, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dearly loved mom, sister and grandma Edna Babiuk on December 11, 2025. Edna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter Babiuk, in 2014.

Edna was born on April 9, 1931, in Regina, Saskatchewan, to Mary and Valentine Grobowsky. She grew up in a large, fun-loving family alongside her sisters Helen and Sylvia, and brothers Raymond, Donald, Harold, Ronald and Larry. These early family bonds shaped her lifelong devotion to family and friends.

On August 13, 1960, Edna married Walter in Regina, and the couple soon moved to Winnipeg, where they built a home and family in Westwood. Edna was a wonderful and devoted mother to Saundra (Ralph) and Darrin (Cindi), and a proud and loving grandmother to Madison and Riley.

Known for her kindness and generosity, Edna was considerate to everyone she met. She had a wonderful sense of humor, carried herself with grace, and had a great sense of style. Fun-loving and welcoming, she enjoyed entertaining and creating meaningful moments with family and friends. Edna was hardworking throughout her life and embraced change with enthusiasm and positivity.

She will be remembered for her loving heart, her laughter, and the way she made others feel valued and cared for. Edna’s legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched.

A celebration of Edna’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, at 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road (Unitarian Church).

Auntie Edna was a very special, beautiful and classy woman. She was always warm and welcoming to everyone. Edna loved visiting with her equally special, beautiful and classy Sister, Sylvia (our Mom). We often heard Mom telling us the best jokes that she could find, so she could call Auntie Edna and make her laugh, which she always did. It's a blessing to have a Sister and friend for a lifetime of sharing and caring, which makes it a wonderful celebration of a long and loving life.

Edna will always be lovingly remembered and our thoughts and prayers and condolences to everyone.
