In Loving Memory of
DONNA MAE BENSON

With heavy hearts, we remember and celebrate the life of Donna Mae Benson, who passed away on September 11, 2026, at the age of 69.

For Donna, family was at the heart of everything. She loved family gatherings and the simple joy of having the people she cared about together. Around the table there was always good food, conversation, laughter, and memories being made.

And when Donna was cooking, everyone knew they were in for something special. Her cooking was the best. She had a way of making food that brought people together and made everyone feel at home. Of all the wonderful things she made, her perogies were especially memorable. No one made them quite like Donna, and they will undoubtedly be talked about—and missed—for years to come.

But it wasn't only the food that made those gatherings special. It was Donna herself. Every meal she prepared was another way of showing her love for her family. The ordinary moments spent gathered around the table have now become some of the most precious memories of all.

Donna leaves to mourn her son, Sheldon; her sisters, Judy and Linda; her brothers, David, Garry, and Danny (Francine); as well as her nieces, nephews, and many extended family members.

While her passing leaves an emptiness within her family, Donna also leaves behind a lifetime of memories—the gatherings, the laughter, the conversations, the familiar sights and smells coming from her kitchen, and the comfort of simply being together.

Perhaps one of the most meaningful ways to honor Donna will be to continue doing what she loved most: gathering together as a family, sharing stories, enjoying good food, laughing about old memories, and making new ones.

And every once in a while, someone will undoubtedly make a batch of perogies and try to make them just the way Donna did.

They may never taste quite the same.

Because sometimes the secret ingredient isn't something written in a recipe.

It's the person who made them.

Donna will be deeply missed,

forever loved, and

always remembered.

A Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held at a later date.
