RON BEREZOWSKI

It is with tremendous heartbreak that Ron’s family announce his sudden passing on Saturday, June 24, 2023.

Ron, the son of Mary and Peter Berezowski, was born on February 12, 1959, and grew up in Navin, Manitoba. With the exception of a few years, he lived on the family homestead of his grandparents, who immigrated to Canada in 1939. He was a great steward of this property and spent countless hours grooming and planting to keep it in pristine condition.

Ron worked for the Province of Manitoba at the Motor Carrier Division for 40 years before retiring in 2020. He was a regional manager from 1997 until his retirement, leading and mentoring a large group of Motor Carrier Enforcement Officers across Central Manitoba.

His retirement gave him more time to enjoy his passion for riding his bicycle. Although in recent years he was more of a fair-weather rider, he was able to ride almost every morning. He also enjoyed long walks with his three, spirited four-legged companions and could be spotted out in the neighbourhood at least twice a day, regardless of the weather.

Ron was very meticulous with everything that he owned, from vehicles, snowmobiles, bicycles, tools and yes, even lawn equipment. Chrome was his favourite colour. If it wasn’t “Ron” clean and shiny, he was out there with cleaners making sure you could see your reflection in it.

Ron was a very generous man and always thought of others’ comfort and needs before his own. It didn’t matter who you were; family, friend, neighbor, or stranger, they could all count on Ron’s help. Running to help the kids when he was needed, helping a delivery driver out of a snowdrift during a storm, or just making someone a welcoming cup of tea or coffee was something he had to do.

His memory will be forever cherished by his wife Jeanette (Jan) McKee, daughter Melissa (Dan), step-daughter Christine (Chad), step-son Michael (Leah) and six grandchildren: Hannah, Ben, Quinn, Mia, Wyatt, Lucas and his puppy pack, Ginger, Ruby and Rebel. Ron is also survived by his sister Pat (Lock), his niece Lizzy (Alex and family). Ron was predeceased by his mother in 2006 and his father in 2009.

The family would like to thank the 911 dispatcher, paramedics, fire department and hospital staff who tried so valiantly to keep Ron with us.  Special thanks to all the family, friends and neighbors who have been there for us as we transition to a life without our loved one.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ron’s memory to the Humane Society, or a local pet rescue of your choice, as his love of animals domestic or wild was immeasurable.

Ron was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, and doggie dad and will be missed by countless family and friends.

We will forever hold you in our hearts, Ron.

The family is planning a private memorial service. A casual Celebration of Life for Ron will be held at their home on Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend. To R.S.V.P and obtain directions please email rpberezowski@gmail.com.
