DIANE BERGERON

(née BRISSETTE)

October 3, 1946 – October 12, 2022

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Diane Bergeron. Diane passed away peacefully with family by her side to join her parents on the early morning of October 12.

Diane leaves behind her husband, Jerry of 54 years, and three daughters, Lana, Michelle, and Becky (Richard). Also, to mourn her passing are her brothers and sisters, Marcel (Edie), Rose, Robert (Barbara), Paula (Bryan) and Paul (Deb). As well as her two grandchildren, Dalton and Riley and numerous nieces and nephews.

Diane and Jerry started their family living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved to Winnipeg in 1981 to be closer to her family. While raising her three children, Diane worked at Burns Meats for approximately 19 years.

After saving for years, Diane and Jerry purchased a cabin in Grand Beach. It soon became their happy place where lifelong friendships were made. Diane loved playing bingo and became a member of the Grand Marias Senior Club eventually being their President for a term. Diane will especially be remembered for the smile on her face, a kind word to all, and a story to tell.

A private celebration of life will take place on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation or Siloam Mission.

So very sorry for your loss… As young adults we double dated often! I had no vehicle & her boyfriends did! Duane was ever the friendly smiling lady and earlier this year we had the occasion to share a meal as we caught up on life, ❤

She will surely be missed. She was always so generous with her knitting especially for babies. She talked to everyone as she sold 50/50 tickets at Bingo. She and I had many a breakfast together and it was great to listen to her life’s stories and adventures. My condolences to Jerry and her daughters.

To Jerry, Lana, Michelle, and Becky. I was so sad to hear that Diane had passed.  She was such a great person, always welcoming and warm smiles.  I always enjoyed our long yak sessions and lots of laughs whenever I was down at the beach at my Uncle Bob’s cottage.  And I remember when the girls were still young and they spent a lot of time with my dog Molly, and training her. I will always remember our grand beach trips in our younger days and always being welcomed like it was home. From feeding the chipmunks, playing with Pepsi, attending bingo and Diane being pro at it. She always had a heartwarming welcoming smile❤ we are thinking of you all in this difficult time
