Well, Rick, we'd been chatting about getting together for coffee when you felt better, but it never happened.  It's been awhile since we retired from "the Div," but you come up often in reminiscences and your sense of humour was a national treasure.  I send sincere condolences to your family and others who have enjoyed you company as I did.

What a wonderful pictorial tribute for Rick.  Love the Rose Tattoo!  I miss talking to him on the Baden and Marville pages on FB.  We were in Marville at the same time as kids as well as Baden as adults.

I was in 6814 in Cornwallis Nova Scotia. On the evening before we were due to leave they opened the wet canteen for us and needless to say I slept in! I was woken by air air force recruit from 6815 who had taken our fire witch the evening before. He said "Wake up Smitty your going to miss your bus to Greenwood and your plane out west! It was of course Rick. I made the old western flyer bus and made the Cosmopolitan which took me to my new life (HMCS Yukon) as a Fleet Radioman. But always a Marville BRAT. Stand down Rick we  have the watch!

When I worked in the Log control section of 425 Squadron in Bagotville, I dealt with Rick who was at 1 Canadian Air Division in Winnipeg where we coordinated the transfer of CF 188 Fighter Aircraft in and out of 425 Squadron. Upon his retirement from the the Canadian Armed Forces he visited the CF 188 Fighter cell in Ottawa and I finally got meet him in person as I was then working there. He was enjoyment to be working with. A very nice gentlemen.
