Lyle Biddulph

LYLE GREGORY BIDDULPH
July 8, 1957 – February 7, 2026
“Life is made of
ever so many partings
welded together.”
- Charles Dickens
It is with heavy heartache we share that Lyle Gregory Biddulph (68) passed away at home on Feb. 7th 2026 in Winnipeg (Treaty 1) Manitoba, following a brief battle with illness.
He is survived by his spouse Jevne; his children, Ryan (Stephanie), Lauren (Adam), and Steven; granddaughter Thea and grandson due May 2026. He is also survived by his brother Brian (Cheryl) and many Brothers-and-Sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins all across Canada, reaching from one shore to another.
Lyle had a stoic kindness that he shared with those around him, which extended into his devotion to his family, and the way he moved through the world. He was careful and deliberate in his actions and decisions, and did his best to encourage thoughtfulness in those around him. He, and the impact he made on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him well, will be fondly remembered.
Born to Eileen and Dennis Biddulph in 1957, Lyle spent his first years in East Elmwood, and later moved to the forested neighborhood of Wildwood Park, nestled in a quiet bend of the Red River in the southern end of Winnipeg. Between his verdant new home, weekend trips to his Aunt's and Uncle's cottage at Falcon Lake, and his own family's cottage, Lyle was always immersed in the natural world and spent much of his childhood swimming, exploring and enjoying the then flourishing green spaces we so often take for granted. Lyle enjoyed many years as his and his brother Brian's families camped across Manitoba, before settling at Toniata, a cozy seasonal community on Falcon Lake-- and after those years, he would enjoy spending time with his brother on fishing trips, and aiding him with the construction of his cottage near Lac Du Bonnet.
Matching his love of the natural world was Lyle's passion for sport and competition: any time he did not spend at the lake he spent chasing new challenges: he was accomplished in downhill and cross-country skiing, curling, golf, tennis and even sailing-- where he brought home several trophies with his partner and future wife, Jevne. Later in life, he adopted the traditional and beloved fatherly hobby of Hockey fandom, becoming a steadfast fan for the Winnipeg Jets, where he rivalled many other dads with his knowledge of their trials, triumphs, and statistics.
Lyle's long and hard-earned career started at the Great West Life assurance company where he began in the mail room, and it was there he rightly identified that the “trend” of computing was going to stick around. Armed with this canny foresight, he advanced into Computer Science and Systems Administration, and there dedicated more than 30 years of his life to the Healthcare sector of Manitoba, with the majority of his time spent at Shared Health (formerly part of Manitoba Health).
As with all passings, Lyle will be terribly missed: as a partner, a father, a grandfather, a brother, a friend, and a colleague. While he no longer walks alongside us, he lives on in all these things he loved, in the spaces he cared for, and more than anything else, in his family.
Love you Dad,
forever and always.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, or the Assiniboine Park Conservancy in Lyle's memory.
Private funeral service will be held for close family, with a Celebration of Life and memorial at a later date.

So very sorry to hear of Lyle’s passing. I worked along side of Lyle for 30 years, from the beginning of the Drug Program Information Network at Manitoba Health, to the transfer over to Shared Health. We shared many stories and laughs together during our scheduled Sunday outages. He always was part of our Manitoba Health golf tournament where he carried us on his back. He was so much more than my senior, he was my friend and a friend to all.

I only knew Lyle in passing through the Fort Garry schools, recreation, and my time in Wildwood park with many close friends, and ones I still have and cherish to this day. Lyle was a friendly , kind gentle soul in my memory of him, and had we crossed paths before his tragic passing, there would have been smiles and laughs of familiarity. This "eulogy" of words is beautiful and warms my heart on what a fine man he was. We can all only wish to be so loved and active in life before and after. RIP Lyle.

Very saddened to hear of the passing of lyle who was a next door neighbour for a time in Wildwood Park. He reminded me of his father Dennis who also passed early on. Although not a close friend I always kept track of his life through his siblings and relatives who will miss him terribly. Best wishes
