We are saddened to learn of the passing of Aunt Hazel. She was a caring person and took an interest in the extended family and all those she came in contact with. May God's peace surround you and comfort you as you mourn the loss of your mom!

My condolences and may the Lord comfort you throughout your grieving time, until joy breaks through in the mornings. Hazel was a wonderful cousin and so talented. She brought joy and zest for life everywhere she went. My Mom Elsie helped Auntie Vera raise Reynold, Effie, Norma and Hazel. Vera always kept in touch, and later, Hazel was so good to sent newsy emails, sharing news about her adventures and family. She will be greatly missed.

Hazel was a remarkable woman who cared deeply about her family. Her devotion to her sisters was exceptional, and she was forever planning adventures for them, including joining us and other family members on our honeymoon cruise in the Caribbean in 1999. We have many wonderful memories with "The Sisters"!

Martha and I met Hazel and her dance partner Guy at an afternoon dance class at Good Neighbours in East Kildonan. She, as usual, was elegantly dressed and full of smiles. She lit up the room. She welcomed us as soon as we walked in the door, and made these newcomers feel very comfortable, quickly.. I knew I was going to like her. We shared many happy times with her and Guy. One time, when we were dancing together, she whispered some dance advice to me.. She said " when dancing, always keep counting". I never forgot that, and used it frequently.

Hazel was a multi-talented person. I met her when she joined toastmasters at Lions Place and she bacame an ET (enthusiastic toastmaster). She promoted the club, encouraged the members and worked her way up the ranks to the Distinguished Toastmaster Level. She got a bee in her bonnet to publish a book with all the members and guests speeches and stories! This resulted in theclub self publishing not one, but two books-Tales from Lions Place and From Far and Wide canadian Stories! Hazel will be missed by people from far and wide!

She was an amazing Auntie and I would spend a lot of time in my younger years visiting Auntie Hazel & Uncle Jim my cousins Darcy, Terry & Kathy in the big city and it was often my 2nd home. I remember her cutting a block of ice cream into squares so everyone got some at our family gatherings. Fond memories will remain.

Hazel came to Finland to meet her relatives and to see from where her parents came to Canada. Hazel told, that her mother had missed a lot Finland in Canada. Finland was also one part of Hazel. We wonderd, how good finnish she spoke. We had a good time together. Our Condolences to Hazel's family. Osanottomme (in Finnish).

Hazel was my 2nd cousin and used to keep me informed as to what was going on which I appreciated as I live in Ontario. This is a lovely tribute to a beautiful lady who will be greatly missed. She was a remarkable woman with so many talents.

Hazel was a wonderfull lady. She was my neighbour in New Finland, Sask, many years ago. Her paintings were so beautiful.

I will miss her emails/texting that we used to have before she
