In 1984 Doug and Kathy moved to Brandon where Doug attended ACC taking an electrical technology course he was then employed by J&M Industries until he moved to Winnipeg after Doug and Kathy were divorced in 1998. He was employed by Shorty's Fencing for many years. He also worked with Flocor for over 20 years.

The Beginning

by Doug Bjornson

Like flying on the wings of a bird.

Feeling the wind in your face.

Not caring what’s below you.

Your heart begins to race.

Looking up to heaven.

Ignoring the world below.

For now this is your time.

To let your emotions go.

Once in our lifetime.

That is why we try.

To be in total solitude.

Between the earth and sky.

Like flying on the wings of a bird.

We all know it’s there.

For we strive to find it.

The beginning is to care.

So sad to just find out that Doug passed away. We worked together at  Mueller, and he found a whole bunch of pieces of metal.  We have the most solid  bench swing that will last for a very long time thanks to Doug's welding!  rip buddy
