GEROLD "BO" BLACKADAR

July 3, 1957 – January 23, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gerold “Bo” Blackadar on Jan. 23, 2026.

He is predeceased by his father Seymour and sister-in-law Lisa. He is survived by his mother Ruth; brothers, James (Robyn) and David (Katia); nieces, Jenicka (AJ), Kayla (Ale), Emmalee (Declan), and Sarah (Cody); and great-nephews, Trey, Kayn, and Londyn. Bo also leaves behind family in Nova Scotia and his good friend Gene.

Bo enjoyed golfing with friends, fishing with his dad, cheering on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and collecting pins. While not the biggest board game fan, he would humour his mother by playing Chinese Checkers (she always won) and Yahtzee (Bo was better at that one).

A dedicated uncle and son who never refused driving his mom to the mall or running an errand for her, his gruff persona was mostly for show and usually failed to conceal his kind and witty nature. You could always count on him to be at every family event with a bottle of Coke (he never switched away from the full-sugar version) and to get a recommendation to watch a TV show you’d never heard of from one of the many streaming services he was a fan of.

A longtime and skilled trucker, he was well-liked by his coworkers at Canada Cartage/Ryerson and his clients alike. His family extends gratitude to Vern and coworkers for all they did on his final day.

He will be greatly missed

by all who knew him.
